Such is the plight of virgil wander who gives leif enger s new novel its name and is one of the most engaging protagonists i ve encountered in years. For a man named wander i d spent a long time in one place from the first pages of the book readers find themselves cheering for virgil.

What a gorgeous quirky and utterly charming book. This is not a book for someone wanting a predictable. Virgil shares his predicament best with this observation.
