Book Review Queen Bee
Holly mcnee jensen has always felt like the odd one out.
Book review queen bee. Queen bee by dorothea benton frank shalini says. 3 5 stars witty and sassy escapism is jane fallon s strong suit and she always delivers a relatable and believable protagonist that readers can get behind and forty two year old laura martin in queen bee has her feet firmly on the ground. Her zingers are hysterical.
By dorothea benton frank. Let me explain but first i d like to perform a bit of public service. She describes herself as having had anxiety since she was a kid and she has even fainted a few times because of it.
Laura runs a small cleaning company. Buy this book. She falls hard for her widower neighbor archie maclean and his two sweet young sons.
Perfect escapism with edge relatable protagonist but a disappointing secondary cast. I would have thought those two things would be mutually exclusive but after reading queen bee they definitely are not. I look forward to reading many more novels by the author.
Queen bee is dorothea benton frank s 20th novel and a departure from her typical sullivan s island beach books. I would love to be like the woman in the cover just a fat pudgy version. Queen bee by dorothea benton frank is filled with quirky characters magical bees and at the center a woman who is trying to figure out where she belongs.
The book is set in sullivans island where interestingly the author was born and raised. I was in dire need of a bit of light relief and escapism and queen bee ticked all the boxes. Her best friend beatrix however has enough confidence for the both of them.
